About Us
Uglyhead is the family website of Scott, Pamela, Aidan, Isabel and Ethan Kennedy. We presently live in the northwestern corner Georgia in the good ‘ol USA. However, I usually tell people that we are from Chattanooga, Tennessee, since we work and play there about as much as we do in our state of residence. It is also worth noting that we are transplants from PA and MS.
About Our Name
Whenever I tell people the name or URL of our blog, I always get funny looks and comments. Huh? Ugly what? If you say so. Where’d you come up with that?
The English surname Kennedy (Gaelic: Caennaideach) comes from the Gaelic word for “ugly headed” (cinneidigh) — hence the name of this website. Apparently that is what people thought of the Kennedys when they first emigrated across the Irish Sea to Scotland.
The plaid background behind the top of the page is the Kennedy tartan. The Kennedy family crest is a dolphin and the motto “Avise la fin” (consider the end).
For the record, there happens to be a band with the same name as this site. We are not associated with them, nor I have I ever listened to their music.
