Lately Isabel has been climbing out of her crib–either after waking up in the morning or when we put her down for a nap in the afternoon. I thought she was standing on a large teddy bear and climbing out on top of her new day bed, but in actuality she was just throwing a leg over the side and dropping all the way to the floor. Rather than risk Isabel hurting herself, we decided that today was the day to make the transition to a big bed.

This afternoon we took down the crib and made up the bed. Both Izzy and Aidan enjoyed playing on the new surface. When eight o’clock finally rolled around Isabel almost seemed scared when I tucked her under the covers. I am sure that she was in fact. I was also sure it was not going to work. So far I am wrong. While her brother got up several times over the last two hours, she seems to have settled right in. This is further proof that in terms of sleep patterns, Isabel is like Pam and Aidan is like me.
