I Cut My Thumb Off

Well, not really (but nearly). They are saying that I will do just about anything to get out of cleaning bathrooms–including this (which required this). On a more serious note, be careful in the woodshop. Having one of these next time is probably a good idea.

Update - The doctor in the family says that I might want to go see someone about the thumb. There might not be enough skin cells remaining to allow proper regrowth. Click here if you want to see a picture of it twenty-four hours later (yeah, it is not pretty).

WOW- that looks painful. And it is at times like that when we realize just how much we use our thumbs.

Oh, and what were you doing?

I was working on trimming wood for the threshold of our front door–a leftover from last summer’s hardwood flooring project (yeah, once the furniture went back in the motivation went). I was cutting long thin pieces on the table saw and jerked my hand as I pushed the piece through at the end. I should have been using a push stick and I’m thankful it wasn’t worse.
