WLOX has streaming video of the damage to Gulfport and Biloxi on their hurricane page. The major news channels have been playing bits and pieces, but you ought to watch the whole thing. Look for the two video links (Aerial shots…) on the left of the page under the Inside WLOX.com heading.
The magnitude of what is missing is hitting home. Pamela and I were married in Biloxi over ten years ago. Tullis-Toledano Manor, where Pamela had her bridal shots taken, has been destroyed. The bed and breakfast in Bay St. Louis where we spent our wedding night was washed away. We saw the owner being interviewed on TV. She survived by hanging on to a tree.
I am anxious to get down there and help however I can with the clean-up. After seeing the footage and hearing of the fate of familiar landmarks, I am not sure that I am prepared for what I might see.
